THE CFDA AWARDS

The CFDA Awards are arguably the biggest night in the fashion world. They rival events like the Met Gala and its counterpart across the pond, the British Awards, but tonight’s event certainly holds a special place for anyone who respects the work of so many domestic and international designers who’ve been honored over the past 30-plus years. All this is to say, naturally, the red carpet is impressive. Of course, since the event is so huge, and so stylish. We’ve narrowed down our favorite looks that lit up the Hammerstein Ballroom tonight. Trust us: These are the looks everyone will be talking about in the morning (probably until next year’s awards, too).

DIANA KRUGER

Wearing: Monse Dress

EVA CHEN

Wearing: Versace Summer Collection

ELSA HOSK

Wearing: Philopsphy dress and Valentino shoes.

Not only did we want to share our favorite looks of the night, we also wanted to share the winners of the night. And while it might technically seem impossible to compare Marc Jacobs, Raf Simons, and Joseph Altuzarra, a few designers did come out on top this evening—in fact, one designer more so than anyone else. See the complete list of winners below.

Receiving an honor from the Council of Fashion Designers of America is one of the highest recognition’s that someone within the fashion industry can claim. But choosing one per category for the 2017 awards had to have been a very, very difficult decision. Last month the CFDA announced its official list of nominated artists, filled with both industry vets like Marc Jacobs and newcomers but only to the United States such as Raf Simons, for his short but highly impressive work at Calvin Klein. Also among the nominations are the potential recipients of the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent that celebrates so many of the talented labels we can’t stop talking about, including Off-White, Monse, and Brock Collection.

Of course, along with the annual awards, the CFDA will also honor many of the women and men who make positive change and set the bar high for what they do. This year specially, three individuals will be recognized for their work in the Women’s March, each having used her voice and talents in a different way: Cecile Richards, Gloria Steinem, and Janelle Monáe. And in the most bittersweet moment tonight, the CFDA announced that Franca Sozzani, the late editor in chief of Vogue Italia who passed away in December, will posthumously receive the Fashion Icon Award.

The Grammy’s, Our Favorite Red Carpet Attire

While nearly every red carpet event kills us with excitement, not just excitement but fashionista excitment, the Grammy Awards hold a special and particularly excited spot in our award show season coverage and inner fashionista. In comparison to other red carpets, the Grammy’s allow a place where celebrities show up in daring gowns and test the waters when it comes to dramatic arrivals and jaw-dropping looks. Who could forget Taylor Swift’s bold tow-piece from last year or Lady Gaga’s tribute to Dave Bowie? It’s the star-studded event that leaves everyone talking, and this year’s red carpet was no exception, not just for the amazing red carpet attire we saw this year, but also for the surprises, astonishing performances, tear jerking moments on stage, and of course shocking attendees.

We thought we would share with you guys are absolutely favorite looks from the red carpet, and without a doubt the most fierce.

Bad Girl Ri Ri, possibly taking on that two-piece inspired look from Taylor last year? We love it. Not only can the beautiful star rock anything fashionable, she can do it with a bad girl attitude. Rihanna rocked the red carpet with a custom Armani gown, Chopard jewelry, and Roger Vivier clutch.

Adele, not only does Adele hook us emotionally with her elegant artistic albums, she does it also with her red carpet looks. Adele won 5 grammy’s and took on the stage with her smashing Givenchy dress.

She may not be the Queen herself, but royal blood runs in the family. Solange Knowles killed the red carpet last night with her Golden Asymmetrical Ruffle Down Gucci gown.

Jennifer Lopez is a legend, and this outfit is going down as one of our favorites from her! Showing off her killer body with cuts in all of the right places, we have never seen JLo look this fierce in her Ralph & Russo dress and darling Christian Louboutin heels.

Does it get anymore beautiful than this? Not only is Chrissy Teigen the best person in the world, she is also the sexiest in this Roberto Cavalli gown! Watch out Anastasia, Chrissy is some serious competition for those Fifty Shades of Gray. To top of her sexual dress, Chrissy accented with the one and only Jimmy Choo clutch and Coomi jewelry.

Watch out for this lady in red, Carrie Underwood killed her red carpet appearance with this bedazzled red gown, Nigaam earrings, and  Jimmy Choo heels.

Laverne Cox as always looking stunning on the red carpet with her leather a-line Bryan Hearns dress and diva smoky make up.

Lady Gaga, as we recently just saw her one-of-a-kind outfit at the Super Bowl, we once again were shocked by her fashion appearance on the red carpet. Stiletto thigh high boots, leather, studs, spikes, and chains. This dominatrix killed it on the red carpet.

Heidi Klum showing off those legs and adding some metallic for fun, perfectly combined with her Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

Demi Lovato was probably one of our most favorite appearances on the red carpet, she looked so elegant in her Julien Macdonald gown,David Yurman jewelry, and  Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

And last but very not least, Katy Perry looked absolutely stunning in her Tom Ford dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

What were your favorite looks from the Grammy’s? Let us know! and we hope you enjoyed our favorites. Until next year.

Long flared bells with the perfect fitted jacket make us swoon. Brush tan leathers, with accents of whites and reds make this collection one of Burberry’s best yet. Poised cuts and edgy styles are what these fall designs so enriched. Hints of gold and of course the long sleeved straight down dress have us begging for more.
