For showing the audience what a Fashion Show is truly about, the inspiring Marc Jacobs stood out with his plush pink shag carpet that took up the entire runway. If this pop of pink wasn’t enough for an entrance, Jacobs also had Beats by Dre Headphones plugged into the seats. As each model walked down the runway, each guest heard random everyday sounds as well as the models walking on different textures, with a thoroughly explanation of what was going on during the catwalks. The clothes were noted for their fun and theatrical styles with louche military. A complete opposite of the 50 & 60’s pink shag to make a perfect balance on the runway.

Marc Jacobs also displayed some amazing color palettes at this year’s NYFW. Jacobs showed diversity from dove gray, nudes, camel tones, rich blues, and dark forest military greens. He showed over 50 ways to wear a field jacket though a number of different combinations such as: swing dresses, cinched satin minis, ball-beaded shirt dresses, day-time party dresses, pajama pants, tank dresses, and evening columns with peek-a-boo slits as well as cropped tops with long, silk skirts.

Not to mention just how AMAZING these field jackets actual looked. The jackets were designed in extra extra large proportions and with silk pockets. Jacobs carried the silk pocket inspiration to cute little sleeveless mini-dresses worn with cross-body bags, and magenta backpacks in silk nylon.

Marc Jacobs displayed modern, feminine utility, and while the stage and the models ‘ spare, homogenous beauty look. Every model had black, shaggy, and edgy bobs as well as ZERO make up! These beauty look’s suggest something severe, the clothes were very wearable. And that’s a pretty great way to end the New York season.

Perfect Summer Outfits

We came up with some perfect summertime outfits for you this year!

It is important to embrace style categories that can be cohesive with everyones favorite class “CASUAL.” Each outfit details a particular category of style in the fashion industry as follows: formal, edgy, street, and corporate. It is not everyday that we get to incorporate the word casual into “Business Attire” or “Edgy” but why not? What holds us fashionista’s back from becoming inspired to create a mix of our own interpretation of these categories. We do not always need to follow the rules of fashion, we can make our own. This is what being a creative is all about in our industry, so mix it up sometimes!

Through accents of bright colors, with a base of monotones & neutrals these outfits are perfect for any summer occasion. Whether you are attending a business lunch at the rooftop of the Ace Hotel in the strong summer heat, or on your way to style a photoshoot in Downtown Los Angeles; these are some perfect combinations of staying cool & maintaining your young professional look.

Street Casual Look by Creative Fashion Blogger, Julie Sariñana embraces a non-traditional take on denim overalls combined with a rough light-denim-washed cut off to provide a perfect balance of light and dark monotone denim. She uses accents of velvet red sandals to pop & and grab your attention. These characteristics play perfectly with her neutral clutch and jewelry accessories to give a subtle emphasize a subtle flow of colors.

Corporate Causal is an amazing option for a busy business fashionista in the hear. This cobalt suit from Via Delle Perle is one of our favorites! It’s a suit and it’s a suit with shorts. So far, thats three out of three! Lately here at Find Fashion we have developed a soft spot for something I like to call midi shorts. Midi shorts are definitely longer than Coachella-style barely there mini shorts but not quite as long as Culottes. Basically a happy medium and a perfect option for pretty much any occasion, especially in the heat. Having realized the full potential of midi shorts, I suddenly felt a void since none yet found their way into my closet! To fill the void, the scoured the web in hopes of finding a perfect pair, but instead found a perfect suit!

Formal Casual worn by Annabelle Fleur is a flawless combination of class and casual. This look seamlessly brings together a simple classic plaid mid top with a beautiful bright pink knee high skirt. Not only does this look have the perfect balance of bright & neutral colors, it also has a lovely balance of symmetric circular waves and crisp square shapes. To top it off, Fleur finishes the look with gold accents in her accessories such as: clutch, jewelry, and heels. This outfit can be worn to a classy business dinner, or to a casual brunch date.

Edgy Casual is one of my absolutely favorites. This outfit is edgy in all of the right places, such as the rockin’ neon yellow mid cut blazer with rolled sleeves! What a great way to embrace summer with yellow accents, and how difficult can it be to come up with a way to wear this bright of yellow? Not a problem with this style! The look is finished with a pastel loose cut blue top, and wool gray mini skirt. Who would have thought all of those items would look so good together? Straight angles and square shapes give this look the perfect edge and ranges of length to make everything flow cohesively. To finish this look flawless are the Adidas Original Superstar Foundation Leather sneakers that bring the casual to edge. We want to wear this outfit every day of the week!

Everlane: “Radical Transparency”

           Everlane1

If you haven’t heard of Everlane by now, it’s definitely time to change that. This San Francisco based brand is changing the game when it comes to the retail industry and we think you’re going to like it.

Founded in 2010 by 25 year old Michael Preysman; Everlane was established with the philosophy “Less is more”. By remaining exclusively online, Everlane has eliminated the middlemen that jack up cost, and found a way to delivery top quality products without breaking the bank. Pieces that usually cost $50 dollars are now available to you for a mere $15. So how does Everlane do it? Let’s take a look.

Everlane’s headquarters located in the Mission District of SF, houses not only the design team, but also the production, sourcing, marketing, engineering, and operation team. By having everything in-house, Everlane can cut costs and develop a company that is almost completely vertically integrated. In addition, Everlane establishes strong relationships with their production factories, monitoring weekly to ensure top quality and integrity.

What many people don’t understand is that the retail cost of a high quality product is expensive not because of the materials being used or the brand on the label but because of all the additional markups the product goes through. For most products, it begins with a design team, then is sent to people who source the materials, then a factory, then to a distributor, and then eventually to a retailer. With all these additional steps in between design and retail, the price can be increased up to eight times! Everlane has completely eliminated this. Their transparent step-by-step guide explains to their customers the true cost of items, and then reveals Everlane’s single markup.

Everlane carries top quality men and women’s apparel, shoes, and accessories. Their classic and minimalistic style ensures tasteful pieces that appear chic in an effortless way. Featured in many well known newspapers and magazines such as New York Times, GQ, Glamour, and Style.com, Everlane pushes the boundaries to ensure customers get what they deserve.

“We challenge the status quo-always asking why.”
