Winter Wardrobe, 5 Pieces For the Season

You know what we love about the seasons changing, and the cold weather coming in? Its not just the holiday spirit, pumpkin spice lattes, and getting to eat as much comfort food as you want. Its also the fall and winter style, our fashionista’s here at Find Fashion conform to a formula of moody colors and a classic coat as our everyday uniforms. However, this year we have noticed a trend. One that us even ready to change up our cold-weather wardrobes a bit. We have been pulling inspiration from the season’s biggest trends, and the bloggers styled fresh new looks using pieces that are not so typical for your everyday winter wear. We wanted to add these trends into our already loved formula to create a new and improved winter wardrobe our readers. So, with the help of some extra trendy bloggers and one of our favorite, Who What Wear Collections, we are showcasing two fun easy-to-wear outfits that you will have on repeat this season, all you need is five simple pieces.

The best thing about these outfits, you’ll probably already have some pieces lined up in your closet. We’re thinking new silhouettes and transformed metallics to really spice up your latte’s, as well as fall inspired florals and of course the beauty of the entire operation, yep you guess it: Velvet. If you haven’t already noticed, velvet is back and in full force. Dark ivory greens, and nocturnal deep blues are the perfect velvet colors to complete your snow season outfits. But don’t take our word for it, here are some babes that are already digging into these trends and exploring there five pieces to wonderland.

VELVET SLIP DRESS

If there’s one item you should be wearing this season, it should be a slip dress, specifically a velvet one. Not only is it on trend and versatile, the luxe fabric makes it super cozy too.

BELL SLEEVE TOPS

Give the term “arm party” a whole new meaning with one of the season’s most playful trends. When your basic top-and-denim combo needs an upgrade, take a cue from the runways and opt for a top with bell sleeves. The silhouette is right in step with the industry’s current obsession with all things ’70s-inspired.

METALLIC SKIRTS

During the holiday season, Find Fashion gravitates toward pieces that are equal parts versatile and festive. A metallic skirt can sometimes be over the top, but do your best to find one that is silver and only has a hint of sparkle, it has potential to be worn year-round.

RE-IMAGINED CARDIGANS

When you think winter fashion, you automatically think of coats. This season, however, we’re leaning on re-imagined styles like long cardigans that mimic details of a traditional coat but has a slimmer silhouette. We are really into layering, but sometimes it’s hard to do so when wearing something more bulky like a coat. An oversize cardigan gives you the same effect and more flexibility when styling a head-to-toe look and layering. Not to mention, you probably already have one of these cardigans laying around in your closet.

FLORAL MIDI DRESSES

Florals don’t have to be relegated to the back of your closet during the winter, just opt for a moodier hue and a longer hemline. Florals in the winter are usually of the forbidden fruit, however a more fall emphasized floral can seriously take the spotlight at your annual holiday party! A darker palette, many even some gold accents and BAM welcome to fall floral season.

VMA VIBES

Please tell us you watched the 2016 VMA’s? We sure did! & were so excited to see Beyonce lead the pack with 11 nominations this year. We sure know why Beyonce lives up to her name of Queen B. The Queen herself took home Video of the Year, and Drake took home the Best Hip Hop Artist with his hit “Hotline Bling.” So many great awards given out to some many deserving candidates. However, what we really want to talk about is all of the amazing, fantastic, and fanatical fashion that went on at the 2016 VMA’s.

Of course we had to start with Kimye, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West both wearing vintage John Galliano, Kim has been on the billboards for one of the best looks at the VMA’s this year. We were also really impressed with Britney Spear’s in a Julien Macdonald dress, H. Stern jewels and Christian Louboutin shoes. We have never seen the Queen of Pop look better. Better yet, how about Ariana Grande in her cute mini black jump suit and Harry Kotlar Jewels? She looked absolutely amazing!

All of the rage this year was really singer and model Cassie rockin yellow ombre hair and gold bell bottom’s. She explained to interviews that she always thought people looked so cool at the VMA’s and she wanted to try something different, and that she did! Cassie totally rocked her look and has been on the billboard for one of the best appearances we have seen at the VMA’s this year. How about Jayden Smith, with his oversized coat and funky style this year, we totally thought Jayden killed the look. Nicki Minaj showed off her beautiful shaped body in a fitting velvet blue gown with hard v-cut outs, the hip hop star also wore Harry Kotlar jewels and a Le Vian ring to accent the perfect blue dress.

Tove Lo added street style with high fashion as she walked down the red carpet in beautiful white Dion Lee dress with her Chrome golden Reebok sneakers. We absolutely loved her style, stepping out of the box but also keeping it classy. Hailey Baldwin was an absolute dream in her Goerges Chakra jumpsuit, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels! We fell head over heels for Beyonce in her Francesco Scognamiglio Couture dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Blue Ivy Carter in Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. How amazing does the Queen B and mini B look? We fell so in love with the pair this year at the VMA’s.

Hope you love these looks from the 2016 VMA’s as much as we do!

Artsy Fashion

Is this the hottest look in Brazil?

It combines art and style in a way that’s reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s POP ART and the trend is only going to get bigger. Legendary Sao Paolo fashion consultant and journalist Paula Martins reports.

Screen Shot 2015-08-14 at 12.24.07 PM

Fashion and art come together in a tight bond to create a trend that has taken over the streets and runways of the Brazilian fashion universe.

Season by season, fashion movements hardly ever happen in an isolated way. Music, art and any manifestation of daily life come as inspiration for stylists who gather from these sources to create their collections. It was in the late 1960’s, with Andy Warhol’s POP ART that this had its timely start.

The massification of art allowed for the participation of fashion, making a success of this partnership that has been appearing in both national and international fashion weeks, and which now has become relevant to an ever-growing market in Brazil.

The question is: how to adapt all this information and create clothes that inspire desire and will become trends here? That’s where every brand’s talent must understand and know – without any doubt – who their customer is, to choose which artistic characteristics will work for them.

Nowadays, the term “ARTSY” synthesizes well this partnership of art and fashion. Differently from previous approaches, now art presents itself in a literal, unrestricted, inhibited way. Prints and colors possess urban characteristics and contemporary shapes, not only in conceptual fashion, but also in casual looks for daily life.

The Brazilian cultural scene is considered fruitful in this new market. The costumes from each region and state enable brands to take advantage of local talents, showing the world Brazilian daily life through clothes.

The return to our origins, going after specific characteristics – such as the handiwork of the “rendeiras”, lace makers from the city of Fortaleza, in the State of Ceará, or such as the street art of São Paulo’s graffiti artists – solidifies the identity of Brazilian fashion, rousing the interest of national brands in their own country. Imagine this scene propagated throughout 26 states, in which each has its own talents, creating artistic material unrestrictedly, just by exercising their creativity.

Simultaneously we also have the Brazilian market recognising these works and desiring to consume national art through clothes. Men and women have grasped the need of not only following international trends, but of having in their own image an identity which can be recognized as personal and untransferable.

All that aligned to a contemporary outlook that could even be exported to other countries. Production chains like weaving and manufacturing benefit from this new era and see in a positive light this union of fashion and art in Brazil.
