The Perfect Millennial Brand & Trend Pair

When Joyce Azria created her new brand, Avec Les Filles, she knew exactly the type of customer she wanted to cater to: the millennial. Joyce stated in a recent interview, “As a millennial, I really felt like no brand understood the way I shop and no brand addressed who I was as a customer,” And I’m sure every millennial including myself can agree with this statement, as such an individualistic generation begins to beautifully maneuver its way into the fashion industry. Joyce wanted to take an opportunity and show what trends she really thinks millennials love.

So what exactly are we loving right now? When asked Azria about the generation’s current favorite trend, she pointed to a playful look that’s perfectly in keeping with the statement sleeve trend of 2017: ruffles. Joyce stated, “This spring, I would say ruffled tops are a huge trend,” and she hit the nail right on with ruffle long-sleeve blouses, woven tops, and button-down shirts. Of course, Avec Les Filles has the perfect piece to test-drive the trend: the Ruffled Sleeve Top, which rings in at a reasonable $58, and also perfect match for the millennial budget.

Speaking of perfect prices, Azria was very strategic when it came to setting price points for different parts of her brand, exceptionally well for the millennials. Joyce stated,  “The clothing items are all at an entry price point of under $100, but the line does stretch up to $595 in the apparel collection. So it’s a high-low mix that’s really in line with the millennial girl and how she dresses.” We are obsessed with Joyce’s specific attention to detail with her brand’s target market and strategic pricing, providing what a true millennial young adult wants, specification. Its what our generation is all about, and on top of the magnificent individualistic emphasis on Avec Les Filles , have you seen these ruffle pieces? They are perfect for any #ootd and #ootn. We are truly obsessed.

Avec Les Filles Ruffled Sleeve Top ($58) This top is one of our favorites and fits in perfectly with the statement sleeve trend.

Aves Les Filles Elbow Sleeve Lace Top ($68) This sheer lace top is the perfect for parties and those outfits of the night, its form fitting and completely in the budget.

Avec Les Filles Layering Tee ($38) You can never own too many striped shirts, and this tee is perfect for layering a cute outfit when you’re going a million places in the day.

Avec Les Filles Jersey Wrap Dress ($68) Wrap dresses are insanely flattering, and go flawlessly with a edgy cut leather jacket.

Avec les Filles Dropped Lapel Gilet ($98) You’ll want to wear this to work every single day, and it literally goes with anything.

We hope you will enjoy Joyce Artzia and Avec Les Filles as much as we do, I guess it’s a millennial thing! Let us know your favorite pieces in the comment below.

The Denim Trend Changing the Scene

Whether you love denim or have a love-hate relationship with it, one thing’s for sure: 2017 will be the year of the demi denim trend. Thanks to Ukrainian designer Ksenia Schnaider, the skinny-meets-baggy jean style is gaining popularity. And if you ask us, the unique silhouette, while daring, is the perfect solution for those days when you just can’t decide between a slim leg and an oversize fit.

The bold design is part Bermuda shorts, part skinny jeans, and there’s a lot of distressing involved. The jeans sit on the natural waistline, flare out slightly in the front from the back they look like a straight-leg style, and are torn at the knee, exposing some skin. From the knee down, the silhouette takes on a straight-leg cut and the hemline is frayed. This jean style has cool girl written all over it, and we’ve already seen Gigi Hadid embrace the two-in-one layered look, so it’s only a matter of time (aka next month at New York Fashion Week) before our favorite street style stars take the denim trend to new heights.

6 Female Designers You Have To Know About

We at Find Fashion are inspired my creativity, innovation, and design. We are absolutely filled with love and inspiration when we see designers revolutionize the fashion industry. Without constant re-engineering and re thinking what is already out there; the fashion world that we see today would not exist.Think about some of the most iconic names in fashion: Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent. Each of these unprecedented brands delivers stunning pieces of couture that have redefined the fashion industry. They also share a common thread that may seem so obvious you’ve never given it a second thought: Each is named after its male founder. Although it might seem that an industry that creates products molded for women would be abundant in female leaders, the number of female heads at renowned brands has historically been lacking. However, the male-dominated fashion industry has rapidly changed in the 2000s. Thanks to the blue print layouts placed by trailblazers such as Coco Chanel, female heads are becoming more common, and with their ascendance, women are building brands of their own.

STELLA MCCARTNEY

screen-shot-2016-12-21-at-10-38-22-am

Stella McCartney began her career in fashion as an intern for Christian Lacroix before rapidly landing the role of fashion director for Chloé, where she succeeded Karl Lagerfeld. In 2001, McCartney debuted her own eponymous named brand to critical acclaim. The Stella McCartney line is now admired for its colorful, lively designs that prove fashion is above all, a means to experiment and express yourself. The brand also separates itself by maintaining a cruelty-free policy that doesn’t utilize animal products in its designs.

RACHEL COMEY

screen-shot-2016-12-21-at-10-42-07-am

Rachel Comey’s career in fashion began not with womenswear, but with menswear in 2001. However, Comey had built a loyal following by 2004 and soon expanded her line to include womenswear and footwear. Since then, cult favorites like the Mars Bootie and Legion jeans have come to define the brand’s chic, laid-back style that is at once practical and daring. Manufactured and helmed in New York, Comey’s brand perfectly characterizes the glamour New York fashion is known for.

MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN

screen-shot-2016-12-21-at-10-44-11-am

Twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen began their fashion career in 2006 with couture fashion label, The Row. After the brand’s success, the sisters established Elizabeth and James, a more moderately priced ready-to-wear line in 2007. In 2012, the sisters took home the coveted top prize at the CFDA Awards, cementing themselves as a force in fashion to be reckoned with.

MARIA GRAZIA CHIURI

screen-shot-2016-12-21-at-10-46-19-am

Italian fashion designer, Maria Grazia Chiuri currently has one of the most distinguished careers in the fashion industry, with a hand in some of the most legendary names in design. Chiuri, along with designer Pierpaolo Piccioli, headed Valentino from 1999 to 2016. In the fall of 2016, Chiuri took up the mantle as Dior’s fashion director, her first time alone as head of a brand. The historical appointment made Chiuri the first woman ever appointed as director in Dior’s history. Now that is some serious girl boss material.

JENNA LYONS

screen-shot-2016-12-21-at-10-49-49-am

American designer Jenna Lyons has been working for J.Crew since she was 21 as an assistant designer for its menswear division. Since then, her career at the brand has skyrocketed at a tremendous pace. She was appointed vice president of women’s design in 2003, executive creative director in 2008, and, finally, president in 2010. Lyons is an inspiration not only to female designers, but to young people in every industry who strive to turn their wildest dreams into reality.

ALESSANDRA FACCHINETTI

screen-shot-2016-12-21-at-10-51-31-am

Alessandra Facchinetti has worked with some of the biggest names in fashion. She began at Prada, working mainly with Prada’s sister line, Miu Miu. She then worked with designer Tom Ford at Gucci for four years before being appointed creative director of Valentino in 2007. In 2013, Facchinetti became creative director for Tod’s, which she was the head of until May 2016. Having forged a blazing path in the world of fashion, Facchinetti’s keen eye for pushing trends is sure to lead her to continued success.

Women are continuing to change the role’s in designer fashion and we can’t wait to see what new designers arise in 2017 to create more commotion in the industry as a whole. Our note to inspiring designers is to just keep swimming, and let your creativity soar! Do not give up on your dreams, and let these women inspire you to keep pushing through the hard work.

Street Style Savvy

Lately, we have had our heads wrapped around a lot of designers, couture dresses, and astonishing fashion weeks from New York to Paris. So we wanted to take a step back and refocus our attention on what we love the most & inspired us to find fashion! Some serious street style. One person who inspires our street style attention is a huge influence in the industry. It doesn’t mater if she’s on the Balmain runway or simply running errands around town with her gorgeous family.

Alessandra Ambrosio will always catch your eye. The Brazilian model and well known Victoria’s Secret Angel who recently stunned on the red carpet in a on-of-a-kind J Mendel gown, continously brings her fashion A game, but her killer street style is one we had to shine the light on. From trendy 70’s flared out jeans, to spring-redy white pants, sunglasses, and bright colors. We wanted to show off and admire some of Alessandra’s best out-and-about looks this year!

VMA VIBES

Please tell us you watched the 2016 VMA’s? We sure did! & were so excited to see Beyonce lead the pack with 11 nominations this year. We sure know why Beyonce lives up to her name of Queen B. The Queen herself took home Video of the Year, and Drake took home the Best Hip Hop Artist with his hit “Hotline Bling.” So many great awards given out to some many deserving candidates. However, what we really want to talk about is all of the amazing, fantastic, and fanatical fashion that went on at the 2016 VMA’s.

Screen Shot 2016-08-30 at 6.23.01 PMScreen Shot 2016-08-30 at 6.25.32 PMScreen Shot 2016-08-30 at 6.27.40 PM

Of course we had to start with Kimye, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West both wearing vintage John Galliano, Kim has been on the billboards for one of the best looks at the VMA’s this year. We were also really impressed with Britney Spear’s in a Julien Macdonald dress, H. Stern jewels and Christian Louboutin shoes. We have never seen the Queen of Pop look better. Better yet, how about Ariana Grande in her cute mini black jump suit and Harry Kotlar Jewels? She looked absolutely amazing!

Screen Shot 2016-08-30 at 6.29.06 PMScreen Shot 2016-08-30 at 6.33.26 PMScreen Shot 2016-08-30 at 6.35.35 PM

All of the rage this year was really singer and model Cassie rockin yellow ombre hair and gold bell bottom’s. She explained to interviews that she always thought people looked so cool at the VMA’s and she wanted to try something different, and that she did! Cassie totally rocked her look and has been on the billboard for one of the best appearances we have seen at the VMA’s this year. How about Jayden Smith, with his oversized coat and funky style this year, we totally thought Jayden killed the look. Nicki Minaj showed off her beautiful shaped body in a fitting velvet blue gown with hard v-cut outs, the hip hop star also wore Harry Kotlar jewels and a Le Vian ring to accent the perfect blue dress.

Tove Lo added street style with high fashion as she walked down the red carpet in beautiful white Dion Lee dress with her Chrome golden Reebok sneakers. We absolutely loved her style, stepping out of the box but also keeping it classy. Hailey Baldwin was an absolute dream in her Goerges Chakra jumpsuit, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels! We fell head over heels for Beyonce in her Francesco Scognamiglio Couture dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Blue Ivy Carter in Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. How amazing does the Queen B and mini B look? We fell so in love with the pair this year at the VMA’s.

Hope you love these looks from the 2016 VMA’s as much as we do!

Tommy x Gigi

We are taking a first look at Gigi Hadid’s collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger – Tommy X Gigi, the collection that the Vogue cover star has co-created with the designer. With signature nautical nods and all-American style, the capsule collection, which features womens’ apparel, footwear and accessories in cosy knits, sleek leather and cool denim will be shown on the catwalk during New York Fashion Week. Get a preview of Hadid’s first collaboration with the label, of which she was named global brand ambassador last year, below. The collection is set to hit the public on September 9 of this year.

It was only a matter of time before Gigi Hadid tried her hand at designing, she’s already conquered the rest of the fashion world right? But what we really respect is that the supermodel is creating a line for a brand she truly loves: Tommy Hilfiger. Gigi wears pieces by the iconic American label both on the street and on the red carpet and she was the leader of the pack at the Spring 2016 show. It’s really no surprise, then, that she was also named the face of Tommy Hilfiger’s newest fragrance, The Girl, inspired by the supermodel’s free-spirited personality.

While you can browse behind-the-scenes shots of the campaign, we’re sure you’re more focused on Gigi’s clothing collection, which is shoppable on Sept. 9. We were so excited to see some of the standout pieces, like a military-style blazer and cozy cable knits, reminisce over some early sneak peek snaps, and gear up to shop everything in store and online. Affordable items include tops starting at $50 and outerwear for $295. But if you want something truly special, keep your eyes on Gigi’s $600 leather pants.

Puma’s Popularity Contest

Screen Shot 2016-07-30 at 2.21.01 PM

According to Business of Fashion, Puma is only getting more and more popular. The brand raked in $13 million for the second quarter, which was considerably more than analysts expected. BoF reports that sales of Puma sport shoes in the U.S. rose a whopping 40% in May, due in large part to the success of Rihanna’s shoes.

On Thursday, Rihannah will release the third installment of her Puma Suede creeper, a sneaker with a flat, thick-soled “creeper” platform attached that is expected to sell out as quickly as the first two releases. Last fall, the $120 sneaker sold out online within three hours of its pre-sale launch. Two months later, in November, a men’s version of the creeper was snatched from the site by the next day. As people queue up their browsers and this week to sell out another $150 for three new colorways, it appears the success of the creeper, a style immortalized in the 70s as a British punk staple by designers like Vivienne Westwood, has transcended the standard celebrity fashion endorsement.

Screen Shot 2016-07-30 at 2.18.09 PM

When Rihanna was seen heading to her favorite restaurant in Santa Monica, California, in October of 2014, only a few fashion spotters were perceptive enough to look past the high-profile Jeremy Scott for Adidas jersey dress she wore and notice her feet—which were adorned with custom Adidas Samba creepers. The next night, she wore Air Forces with the same thick creeper sole attached, designed by the same brand, L.A.-based Mr. Completely. The creeper wouldn’t go on to become an “It shoe” until one or two seasons later, but Rihanna was launching the trend. She started experimenting with platforms when other pop stars were still contemplating whether or not to go stiletto or platform. It would be another four months before Vogue labeled Alexander Wang’s exaggerated creeper boot the Fall 2015 season’s “must-have,” (which, of course, Rihanna had already worn in February of that year). And by September, Rihanna’s creeper-soled sneaker for Puma would sell out within hours. The creeper had officially reached complete “It sneaker” status.

Tis The Season To Lace Things Up!

We know, isn’t lace one of the hardest things to wear? How do you wear lace, and what occasion is it appropriate to wear?… Well we have got five different occasions to wear lace and to rock it. This season we are all about the lace. The fashion fabric is timeless, versatile, and romantic of course. It is one of the only materials that has revamped itself to be just as relevant today in street style, as it was in the Victorian era. We are ready to get stockpiling!

The Chicest Witches of Halloween

With Halloween fast approaching, Mercury in retrograde, and Blood Moons popping up, thing have been feeling a bit mystical. Or even Bewitched’s Samantha Stephens? Here are some of the chicest good, bad, but never the ugly witches.
