VICTORIAS SECRET x BALMAIN

We are still grinning huge smiles over this amazing collaboration. We could not wait to share it with you guys, can you believe it? What a dream come true. Victoria’s Secret x Balmain are here with some absolutely amazing designs.

It’s a match made in top-model heaven. Balmain and Victoria’s Secret have teamed up for a collaboration that unsurprisingly marries the glamour that both brands are known for. Designer and Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing, has created an It-girl cult around the lauded house, with fans ranging from Kendall Jenner to Joan Smalls models who, as it happens, have also become icons on the Victoria’s Secret runways over years past.

This marks the first time Victoria’s Secret has worked with another brand to create an exclusive collaboration to be sold in stores. A number of styles will also be incorporated into the VS Fashion Show in Shanghai later this month. From crystal-encrused bras to underwear with fishnet details, the collection marries Balmain’s rockstar DNA with the flash we’ve come to expect from VS’s buzzy fashion shows.

Below, we’re sharing a sneak peek at the collection, which you can shop after the show airs on November 28.

What do you guys think of the selection?

We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

ERDEM x H&M

How’s your week going? Our is great, Friday is just around the corner and not to mention official images from the H&M and Erdem Collaboration are finally here and we had to show you guys what this collaboration is all about. This collaboration was first announced back in July 2017, London-Based designer Erdem Moralioglu brings his romantic silhouettes and beautiful prints to the fast-fashion retailer on November 2, 2017.

The collection includes both men’s, and women’s clothing as well as some amazing accessories. Erdem is officially the latest brand to team up with H&M. This London-based designer Erdem Moralıoğlu is bringing his romantic aesthetic to the fast-fashion retailer with new women’s apparel and his first-ever menswear collection. The capsule will “reinterpret the design themes from some of his most celebrated collections,” according to a press release.

“I am so happy to collaborate with H&M, and to explore my work on a whole new scale, including a menswear collection which I have never done before. It’s also such a thrill to work with Baz Luhrmann, one of the most important storytellers of our time,” the designer said in a release. Erdem is the newest addition to the slew of brands tapped by H&M, following Kenzo in 2016, Balmain in 2015, and Alexander Wang in 2014. The collaborations for this project aren’t only fashion-based. H&M also poached renowned filmmaker Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby) to direct the campaign. The brand has plucked similar talent in the past last year’s ads were photographed by Jean-Paul Goude.

“For me, fashion is always about more than just clothing, it is a form of expression – a standalone art form,” Luhrmann said in a statement. Erdem x H&M will be premiere on November 2 at select H&M stores and online at hm.com.

We had to show you guys what this amazing collection is all about!

If you’re searching for a pair of investment shoes for fall, where better to look than a supermodel’s new collaboration with an iconic Italian brand? Claudia Schiffer has debuted a new collection of shoes designed with Aquazzura, and as you can imagine, the results are insanely stylish.

Our Best Dressed of the Week

ZOE KRAVITZ

Wearing: Christian Dior Couture at the Emmy awards this week, Zoe Kravitz glided onto the red carpet like a rainbow dream. Her gown took over 200 hours to create, which looks straight out of our favorite fantasy land. Winning her a place for best dressed of the week.

KIRSTEN DUNST

Wearing: Rodarte, its one thing to show up in flowers on the runway, but Kirsten Dunst took us to a flower wonderland and wore them on the red carpet to the Hollywood Premier of her film Woodshock. She looked flawless with devine baby breathe wrapped around her floral gown. She earned a spot on our best dressed of the week.

MILLIE BOBBY BROWN

Wearing: Calvin Klein, at a young age of 13 Millie Bobby Brown is a legit style princess. Her prima ballerina outfit at the Emmy’s looked like it was taken preciously from your childhood jewelry box and enlarged into the perfect dress. Millie absolutely earned a place in our best dressed this week.

MARGOT ROBBIE

Wearing: Brock Collection, at the London, England Premiere of her upcoming film Goodbye, Chris topher Robin. Margot Robbie wore a sweet frock in vintage floral print that rivals your grandmothers linens for some serious style.

RIHANNA

Wearing: Molly Goddard, Rene Caovilla Sandals, for the third week in a row Rihanna has been showing us what her style is really about, the Emmy’s, and her appearance at Harvey Nichols. This time we are impressed to see her on-trend lavender babydoll dress paired with heels that snake up her calves like magic.

ADWOA ABOAH

Wearing: We can’t help but continuously praise model Adwoa Aboah for her electric style. Only she could successfully wear a orange zebra fur coat, shoulder-grazing statement earrings, and glittery disco-ball eyeshadow.

ANGELA BASSETT

Wearing: Romona Keveza, Angela Bassett attending in 2017 Creative Art Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, California. The actress grazed us with her fiery presence. Her dresses asymmetrical neckline contrasted by a blunt bob is a killer combo, winning her best dressed of the week.

EMMA STONE

Wearing: Tom Ford, we always strive to match our accessories to our clothes, but Emma Stone’s chained straps make that task a no-brainer. She wore a white-and-gold dress with great gold accessories to the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her upcoming film, Battle of the Sexes.

LILY ALDRIDGE

Wearing: Carolina Herrera, Lily Aldridge gave her simple LBD a touch of casual elegance with a statement belt at the Oscar de la Renta runway show. A vintage-inspired fabric belt is now at the top of our autumn shopping list.

SOLANGE KNOWLES

Wearing: Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Solange Knowles debuted her platinum braids at the Maryam Nassir Zadeh show this week, but its her twisted top we’re eyeing. Worn with wide-led trousers and funky sunglasses, it’s a crop top you can wear during the unpredictable weather between fall and summer.

THE CFDA AWARDS

The CFDA Awards are arguably the biggest night in the fashion world. They rival events like the Met Gala and its counterpart across the pond, the British Awards, but tonight’s event certainly holds a special place for anyone who respects the work of so many domestic and international designers who’ve been honored over the past 30-plus years. All this is to say, naturally, the red carpet is impressive. Of course, since the event is so huge, and so stylish. We’ve narrowed down our favorite looks that lit up the Hammerstein Ballroom tonight. Trust us: These are the looks everyone will be talking about in the morning (probably until next year’s awards, too).

Receiving an honor from the Council of Fashion Designers of America is one of the highest recognition’s that someone within the fashion industry can claim. But choosing one per category for the 2017 awards had to have been a very, very difficult decision. Last month the CFDA announced its official list of nominated artists, filled with both industry vets like Marc Jacobs and newcomers but only to the United States such as Raf Simons, for his short but highly impressive work at Calvin Klein. Also among the nominations are the potential recipients of the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent that celebrates so many of the talented labels we can’t stop talking about, including Off-White, Monse, and Brock Collection.

Of course, along with the annual awards, the CFDA will also honor many of the women and men who make positive change and set the bar high for what they do. This year specially, three individuals will be recognized for their work in the Women’s March, each having used her voice and talents in a different way: Cecile Richards, Gloria Steinem, and Janelle Monáe. And in the most bittersweet moment tonight, the CFDA announced that Franca Sozzani, the late editor in chief of Vogue Italia who passed away in December, will posthumously receive the Fashion Icon Award.

The Denim Trend Changing the Scene

Whether you love denim or have a love-hate relationship with it, one thing’s for sure: 2017 will be the year of the demi denim trend. Thanks to Ukrainian designer Ksenia Schnaider, the skinny-meets-baggy jean style is gaining popularity. And if you ask us, the unique silhouette, while daring, is the perfect solution for those days when you just can’t decide between a slim leg and an oversize fit.

The bold design is part Bermuda shorts, part skinny jeans, and there’s a lot of distressing involved. The jeans sit on the natural waistline, flare out slightly in the front from the back they look like a straight-leg style, and are torn at the knee, exposing some skin. From the knee down, the silhouette takes on a straight-leg cut and the hemline is frayed. This jean style has cool girl written all over it, and we’ve already seen Gigi Hadid embrace the two-in-one layered look, so it’s only a matter of time (aka next month at New York Fashion Week) before our favorite street style stars take the denim trend to new heights.

Some Serious Trends, Guys are secretly loving!

The best thing about fashion is being able to dress completely for yourself, putting on what makes you feel your absolute best. However, getting an outsider’s perspective never hurt either and that’s exactly what the fashionistas at Who Wore What did. Who Wore What completed a survey of a handful of men and women on their perspective of what looks great to them on the female body. We were pretty surprised at the responses… the current trends they liked on women included ones like “statement sweatshirts” and “pantsuits.” Shocking, we know!

Perhaps, we’d underestimated the opposite sex’s ability to appreciate the finer points of fashion. Duly impressed, Who Wore What compiled the best responses and we thought we would share these trends with you. We think that you should not only applaud young ladies and men on the streets for their trend savvy suggestions but also you should invest in these trends ASAP. So get ready to see the shocking opinions of what guys & your fellow femme’s secretly are loving on you!

Of course fashion is about self representation and being able to dress for one’s self is the most important and influential part of the fashion industry, however we can not deny that hearing the perspectives of others helps determine some of our fashion statements. Maybe you weren’t too sure about wearing oversized sweaters or fitted sweatpants… but hearing that these trends are catching eyes might crack your shell to giving them a try. Either way its about what makes you comfortable, and what makes you feel good both inside and out. We hope you give these trends a go, and be careful not to break any necks on the way.

Street Style Savvy

Lately, we have had our heads wrapped around a lot of designers, couture dresses, and astonishing fashion weeks from New York to Paris. So we wanted to take a step back and refocus our attention on what we love the most & inspired us to find fashion! Some serious street style. One person who inspires our street style attention is a huge influence in the industry. It doesn’t mater if she’s on the Balmain runway or simply running errands around town with her gorgeous family.

Alessandra Ambrosio will always catch your eye. The Brazilian model and well known Victoria’s Secret Angel who recently stunned on the red carpet in a on-of-a-kind J Mendel gown, continously brings her fashion A game, but her killer street style is one we had to shine the light on. From trendy 70’s flared out jeans, to spring-redy white pants, sunglasses, and bright colors. We wanted to show off and admire some of Alessandra’s best out-and-about looks this year!

Pretty, Paris, & Pink- FENTY x PUMA

screen-shot-2016-09-29-at-11-28-15-am

You already know we are in love with Rihanna, running, and fashion, which is why we were so excited when we saw these three come together into one absolutely amazing show. Rihanna made her Paris Fashion Wekk debut with a show for her Spring 2017 Fenty & Puma collection. We all know Rihanna does everything big, which is why we weren’t surprised to see her collection set against the elaborate backdrop of the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild! The celeb sent out street wear with high-fashion twists, Rihanna’s second Puma offering was a take on Marie Antoinette as if she was the coolest chick on the streets of Paris. After watching the show, we thought there were some major details you guys might want to know about Rihanna’s stunning debute.

screen-shot-2016-09-29-at-11-25-18-am

Rihanna turned the salons of the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild into a wonderland complete with chandeliers lying on the ground and a maze-like runway that wound in and out of the hôtel particulier’s many rooms.

screen-shot-2016-09-29-at-11-37-48-am

Imaan Hammam opened the show in a transparent, Pepto-pink parka that was trimmed in ruffles. She carried a Puma-branded fan and wore a full neck of jewelry, a do-rag, and a baseball cap.

screen-shot-2016-09-29-at-11-31-02-am

From there the show cycled through a variety of pink looks. The most dramatic being the bow-front number on Slick Woods, before turning to an army green palette that included jumpsuits and a memorable hoodie with a bra top affixed to its front. We are obsessed with this palette.

screen-shot-2016-09-29-at-11-32-37-am

Corsets were a big story at Fenty x Puma, with models wearing them over dresses, as part of sweatshirts, or on their own with bra tops.

screen-shot-2016-09-29-at-11-33-24-am

Though we were absoutely in heaven with the collection at the beginning, we could not help but wonder… wait where are the shoes? And then all of a sudden, there they were. There were creeper-soled boots, stiletto mules, and proper pumps with shoelace trim at the front for girly girls who want to nod to sports culture without getting their feet wet.

screen-shot-2016-09-29-at-11-35-05-am

Many of the models in the show carried diamond rings in their mouths. How better to propose to a gal? But really a Rihanna twist on the show, providing a mysterious perception for the audience to make their own determinations on what they would do with a hot model & diamond ring in their mouth. After the models took their final walk, Rihanna came out in head-to-toe pink, making sure to stop in each of the salon’s many rooms and bless her guests with a photo op. If the big smile on her face is any indication, we’d say she’s pretty happy with the outcome of this collection.
